About the Team
Business Technology(BT) in Workday continues its mission to deliver unparalleled value to our business partners and customers. The Program and Business Operations team works with partners both within BT and outside to define, align on, and implement the strategic programs and operations. The team is also responsible for standardizing program methodologies, tools and operations/metrics across the BT organization to provide a unified experience.About the Role
Workday is looking for a highly driven Principal Program Manager to join the Business Technology PMO, who will play a key role in leading Go-to-Market(GTM) cross-functional strategic programs at Workday.
In this role you will lead a variety of cross functional strategic IT initiatives with significant scope and impact supporting several areas of business strategy. In addition, you will also serve a meaningful role in how we handle our portfolio.
This is a highly visible hands-on role where you will be working alongside business and technical leaders on the execution of enterprise applications program efforts and management of business operations that align with the overall company GTM strategy and goals. You are a hands-on teammate that is eager to learn and grow in a fast paced and high impact domain.
You will also be part of the PMO portfolio management team to help institutionalize BT Program Management methodologies and processes.
Lead and support the implementation of enterprise Go-To-Market strategic programs. This includes orchestration of activities, execution on plans, and working with existing and acquired teams to enable smooth transitions and ensure successful integrations
Proactively get results by leading the management of key program and operational activities, handling risks and issues, and leading programs to achieve desired goals while keeping cross functional teams accountable to program objectives
Partner closely with various stakeholders across cross-functional teams while clearly and effectively communicating insights/recommendations and status of projects including presenting to/leading meetings with/at VP level.
Apply change management techniques to provide clear communication and coordination within all areas affected by projects
Build and handle methods of reporting metrics, operational status and efforts
Work across multiple work streams to coordinate high level and detailed schedules for project implementation
Mentoring and coaching individual project managers/scrum masters
Recognize opportunities for improvement and take initiative to implement changes
Build appropriate communication and status reporting mechanisms to ensure leadership is consistently aligned on PMO strategy, direction, budget, portfolio status, risks, mitigation plans and future roadmaps
Develop and maintain project level status and reporting to customers and management
Assist as needed in portfolio management and fiscal planning activities
About You
Basic Qualifications:
12+ years of project/program management experience, including planning and management, issues/risk management, testing, including processes, reporting, and project management tools.
10+ years of implementing enterprise Go-To-Market integration programs or solution support experience in CRM/Salesforce, preferably in technology companies
Salesforce certification or accreditation
PMP, Scaled Agile, or equivalent Certification
Deep project/program planning and implementation background; shown success delivering major/critical projects, including all aspects of process development and execution.
Experience with several of these tools: CRM/Salesforce, Gsuite JIRA, Smartsheet, ServiceNow
Change management experience
Strong proficiency in SDLC, Jira and Agile standard methodologies
Previous experience in Technology companies or consulting industry
Collaboration-first mentality, an organizational “connector” that easily works across organizational boundaries. Influencing without authority, and building rapport with senior partners, outside of the immediate team.
Outstanding analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with others to determine, and implement acceptable solutions
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills including the ability to concisely connect with technical and non-technical partners across the organization.
Ability to navigate ambiguity, drive clarity, strive for excellence and be comfortable under pressure.

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
