We are integrating best practice frameworks, legal/regulatory requirements and risk management into a multidisciplinary Cyber Resilience team to leverage resources, competencies and knowledge to enhance efficiencies in support of the services we are providing to our client. With the ongoing digitalization in the (financial) world, accelerated through Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), this is an exciting opportunity for a CR legal technology specialist. The role of the CR Legal Technology Specialist is to enhance compliance, manage risk internally and support the development and implementation of innovative technology solutions to help financial institutions comply with regulatory requirements efficiently and cost-effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Support regulatory compliance and stay up-to-date with the legal and regulatory landscape governing the financial industry, including laws related to data privacy, consumer protection, anti-money laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), and regulatory compliance (e.g., Ley Gramm-Leach-Bliley (GLBA) Act, GDPR, CCPA)
• Identify and analyze regulatory changes in the countries where Veritran operates and advise internal stakeholders on the effective implementation of those requirements
• Identify business opportunities, support and advise business and product/platform teams on applicable legal/regulatory requirements for (innovative) platform/product development
• Act as an advisor to ensure that the increasing use of AI and ML in financial services are deployed ethically and responsibly
• Working with the Cyber Resilience and Technology teams to assess and mitigate cybersecurity risks associated with Veritran's platform/products
• Support contract management for clients and vendors
• Support the Third Party Risk Assessment processes and support the definition/addition of security clauses based on those evaluations
• Work together with the Veritran CR Risk and Compliance team mapping legal/regulatory requirements to the control environment to manage compliance, risks and certifications
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with regulatory authorities, acting as a liaison between the Veritran and regulatory agencies to address any concerns, and incidents, seek clarification on regulatory matters, or participate in regulatory discussions or working groups
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with various teams, including legal, finance, talent, engineering, development and IT operations

Qualifications:

• A solid understanding of legal and regulatory requirements applicable to the financial industry, including laws related to banking, finance, securities, and consumer protection. A background in law or compliance is beneficial
• Proficiency in technology tools and platforms used in the development and implementation of technology solutions. This may include experience with software development, data analytics, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and compliance management software
• Experience in managing legal/regulatory requirements in the USA and Europe is a must
• Excellent command of English (verbal/written) and reasonable Spanish is a plus

Certifications & Licenses

• Relevant certifications in legal technology, regulatory compliance, or cybersecurity may be beneficial, such as Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
