What to ExpectTesla is continuously pushing the boundaries of innovation in transportation, energy generation, energy storage, self-driving, AI hardware and software. Infrastructure Security Engineering under the Information Security organization is responsible for building and operating security capabilities to measure and continuously improve the security posture of our global on-premises datacenter infrastructure and public cloud footprint. Our on-premises IT infrastructure includes AI platforms that powers our AI endeavors. As a Senior Security Engineer on the team, you will be expected to analyze security posture of one or more platforms including Tesla’s AI platform, on-premises servers, Kubernetes clusters, and public cloud and AI platforms. You will closely work with Platform Engineering / Infrastructure SRE teams to create insights and tools that will help application owners to visualize posture, track and remediate security issues. You will actively participate in security reviews, risk analysis and security solution design.
What You’ll Do - Identify threats and implement security controls to improve security posture for one or more platforms including AI platforms / managed Kubernetes & implement strategies to prevent, detect and respond to threats applicable to these platforms
- Identify, assess, prioritize and remediate vulnerabilities for the above stated platforms
- Work with various take owners like application owners and platform SRE team to remediate security issues
- Build and operate DevSecOps tools that identify security issues early in the dev lifecycle
- Collaborate with Security Operations, Detection, and Incident Response teams to develop detection signals and incident response playbooks and tooling to support their function
- Develop and maintain documentations for security tools and solutions
- Perform security reviews, risk assessments and identify attack vectors
What You’ll Bring - Degree in Computer Science, Information security, or equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability
- Working experience in a security team supporting Kubernetes infrastructure, cloud infrastructure and/or on-premises datacenter infrastructure
- Good understanding of Linux security, defense in depth, security standards like STIG, MITRE, NIST etc.
- Practical experience in developing software solutions. Proficient in at least one programming languages like Python, Go or Java
- Proficient in CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins, Gitlab etc.) with deep understanding of GitOps principles
- Good understanding of image vulnerability scanning tools (like Wiz, Prisma etc.) and artifact management (e.g. artifactory, docker hub etc.)
