Overview

Since GitHub Copilot was initially launched 2.5 years ago, not only it is the world’s first at scale AI developer tool but also the most widely adopted. We continue marching successfully toward our vision to be the AI assistant to assist developers in the entire SDLC; and being ubiquitous across developer tools, both 1P and 3P, conversational, personalized and trusted by enterprises. As we are looking to accelerate the amazing growth and stay ahead of the competition, we are looking for a Product Manager to take our Copilot product experiences to the next level - whether code completion, the new experience with “chat”, or adding new extensions to the Copilot family.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge and expertise to work with teams on different aspects of the software development life cycle.
  • Knowledge and expertise of working with applied science, AI tools, processes and techniques.
  • Knowledge of customer research. Defining and prioritizing customer scenarios and experiences, identifying problems, outlining concepts and riving validation. Creating differentiated developer experiences across development tools. Anticipate, identify, and mitigate blockers to customer success goals.
  • Leveraging data and analytics to capture progress and key results toward team objectives. The ability to systematically gather information from a variety of sources, analyze information, identify implications of data, draw conclusions, generate alternatives and solutions, and evaluate the consequences of choosing each alternative using quality metrics and data.
  • Engaging with customers and partners to understand business needs and opportunities.
  • Clearly communicate product benefits to our users and internal stakeholders .
  • Specifying, owning, and growing product features through the whole product lifecycle .
  • Communicate with customers via blog posts, documentation, and engage on Open Source forums .
  • Build end-to-end demos of scenarios for your developer experiences .
  • Work with marketing/PR teams and presenting occasionally at conferences .
  • Knowledge and expertise increasing the discoverability and adoption of new product features.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years experience in product/service/project/program management, software development, product design, or related field
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in related field AND 2+ years experience in product/service/project/program management, software development, product design, or related field
    • OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands on experience working with code, AI products, devOps tools.

Compensation Range

The base salary range for this job is USD $97,900.00 - USD $259,900.00 /Yr.

These pay ranges are intended to cover roles based across the United States. An individual's base pay depends on various factors including geographical location and review of experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant. At GitHub certain roles are eligible for benefits and additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These rewards are allocated based on individual impact in role. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role.
