Responsibilities

This role requires a dynamic leader who can truly inspire and drive a new team towards achieving ambitious growth targets, leveraging Microsoft's resources and partnerships to deliver exceptional results. The Account Team Sales Manager - Growth Majors will be responsible for setting an extremely high bar upfront internally and externally, establishing a team identity, and fostering a culture of innovation and agility. Ideal candidates must have prior experience leading enterprise level sales teams with proven success landing new business while demonstrating innovation and success at long-term growth development. Additionally, the candidate should be adept at leveraging digital sales strategies and partner relationships to scale business operations and meet organizational goals.

Develops and maintains a understanding of customers' industries and business priorities, discusses customer needs and solutions based on customer insights. Leads digital transformation efforts across accounts to drive business outcomes and create business value for customers, ensures line-of-business wins are captured. Directs and facilitates the development and delivery of compelling, value-proposition presentations and specialized business plans for clients that accelerate the closing of deals, facilitates connections between customers and broader Microsoft solutions, and consistently drive business outcomes. Develops and holds team(s) accountable for developing a deep understanding of their clients and/or customers' business models and priorities, and holds team(s) accountable for developing a deep understanding of their clients and/or customers' business models and priorities. Directs long-term customer satisfaction growth and maintenance strategies, holds team(s) accountable for customer (dis)satisfaction issues and coaches them to resolve those issues. Positions oneself as a thought leader and trusted advisor to executive-level business decision makers across their business areas. Directs the development and implementation of strategies for maximizing selling and customer add opportunities. Leverages a knowledge of Microsoft's product landscape, solutions, and strategy to address customer's needs.

  • Lead a specialized team of highly talented and experienced Account Executives of 6 territories focused on achieving significant business growth across the Microsoft enterprise technology portfolio in 67 underpenetrated accounts
  • Generate near immediate business results while creating the conditions for long-term sustainable success
  • Establish and nurture a new sales team culture that is focused on proactive business development, cohesive teamwork with digital sellers, and the boldness to experiment with new business strategies with customers and internal processes
  • Engage in close collaboration with partners to quickly penetrate accounts and secure new deals, while facilitating cross-team collaboration within the Digital Specialized Team Units
  • Implement a robust internal Rhythm of Business (ROB) that emphasizes "Big Bets" with Manager Sponsor and includes regular reviews, as well as quarterly team huddles to reinforce team identity and drive momentum. Strategic thinking for long-term success and immediate action is essential
  • Demonstrate a passion and skill for coaching sales personnel to adapt to change and exceed performance expectations
  • Be highly adept at leading direct relationships and sales meetings with Business Executives, ensuring successful outcomes
  • Possess a executive presence to cultivate new and ongoing relationships with key stakeholders and executives across customers and partners; a proven ability to influence Chief Officers to strengthen their partnership with Microsoft is expected. You will often act as a leader independently to expand the business
  • Direct, motivate, and collaborate with the Digital Sales Engineer (DSE) and Partners through pre-packaged offers and propensity data, leveraging the support of Manager and General Manager as a frontline advantage with customers; work closely with peer Manager in the Digital team to ensure resource alignment and business execution
  • Create and lead "Leader Roundtables" and uniquely compelling events with customers to drive effective customer engagement and pipeline generation, ensuring consistent communication with each Chief Information Officer and their peers
  • You oversee and direct actions across multiple complex accounts and business areas, and manage planning and prioritization efforts across accounts. You direct and hold virtual teams accountable to lead execution and customer escalations. You proactively expand strategic network of key internal and external partners. You position yourself as a thought leader and trusted advisor to executive-level business decision makers. You proactively cultivate trusting and influential relationships with customers and direct sales teams to use sales strategies with decision makers at high levels of the customer's organization.
  • You direct and facilitate the development and delivery of compelling, value-proposition presentations. You hold team(s) accountable for developing a deep understanding of their clients. You direct and execute talent acquisition, recruiting, succession planning, and change management. You leverage knowledge of product landscape, solutions, and strategy to address customers' needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering (e.g., Electrical or Mechanical), Business Management, Economics, or related field AND 6+ years experience in sales, marketing/advertising, managing high performance sales and technical-sales teams, and/or leadership roles in multi-tiered large organizations
  • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering (e.g., Electrical or Mechanical), Business Management, Economics, or related field AND 5+ years experience in sales, marketing/advertising, managing high performance sales and technical-sales teams, and/or leadership roles in multi-tiered large organizations
  • OR equivalent experience
  • 2+ years direct/formal, indirect/informal, and/or project team people management experience

Sales Management M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,000 - $217,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $168,600 - $237,500 per year.
