Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting cloud-based networks.
  • 5 years of experience with cloud networking platforms (GCP) and network automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.).
  • Experience coding in one or more general purpose languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go, C or C++) including data structures, algorithms, and software design.
  • Experience with networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, etc.), network architectures, and cloud networking services (VPCs, load balancers, firewalls, etc.).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Professional certification for Cloud networking (e.g. Google Professional Cloud Network Engineer) or other network certifications (CCNA, CCIE).
  • Experience in scalable networking design including high availability, redundancy, failover and load balancing.
  • Experience troubleshooting networking protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP/S and BGP.
  • Experience with one or more third-party networking products (e.g., PANW, Fortinet, VMWare Cloud Foundation).
  • Experience with Cloud-based Kubernetes network architectures (e.g., GKE, EKS, AKS).
  • Understanding of hybrid cloud or network security.

The Google Cloud Platform team helps customers transform and evolve their business through the use of Google’s global network, web-scale data centers, and software infrastructure. As part of an entrepreneurial team in this rapidly growing business, you will help shape the future of how businesses of all sizes use technology to connect with customers, employees, and partners. As a Cloud Network Engineer, you'll help customers build out their Google Cloud network infrastructure, guiding them on how to configure and deploy their Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) architecture, hybrid cloud connectivity, load balancing, network security, and more. You'll consult with customers on how to best design, deploy, and optimize their cloud network for high availability, reliability, performance, and scalability in different parts of the world. You will also work directly with Google Cloud’s strategic partners to design and perfect operations solutions, while supporting customer‘s migration to Google Cloud and helping them to expand their cloud footprint. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with Product Management and Product Engineering teams to drive excellence in Google Cloud products and features.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Be a trusted technical advisor to customers and solve complex Google Cloud Network and related infrastructure challenges.
  • Design, develop, and help customers deploy advanced and/or complex Cloud network.
  • Create and deliver cloud networking best practices recommendations, tutorials, articles, and technical presentations adapting to different levels of key business and technical stakeholders.
  • Be a technical advisor and perform troubleshooting to resolve technical challenges for customers.
  • Travel up to 30% for in-region for meetings, technical reviews, and onsite delivery activities.
