This role is perfect for someone who excels in leading cross-functional teams of people who do not report to them, in order to develop, shape and implement Apple Music’s product marketing approach. This role’s aim is drive awareness, and interest in Apple Music’s innovative features and technology. This role requires someone with both incredible storytelling, and exceptional communication skills, who is both comfortable and experienced, speaking with press. The right person for this role has an effusive and positive presence, and has the ability to thrive independently with limited direction. The role also requires strong partnerships with the product, engineering and design teams, as well as the cross-functional marketing teams. Description

- Develop the ongoing communications strategy, positioning, and messaging of Apple Music product features. - Collaborate with marketing, product, design, engineering, business and editorial to align on key product priorities and achievements, that are delivered through globally consistent execution plans. - Work closely with Apple Music PR to craft product messaging for press-facing communications, including press releases, briefing materials and responses to media inquiries. - Represent Apple Music at PR approved press briefings, industry events, conferences and media engagements, serving as a key spokesperson and advocate for the brand. - Monitor and synthesize various data sources to distill into insights that can help shape or refine our product features communications strategy. - Define positioning and messaging to be used in all associated customer facing assets.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of proven experience in product marketing, communications or a similar role with a strong emphasis on presentation design and delivery, with a strong background in the music, entertainment or technology industries.

  • Deep experience and relationships with tech press. Music press experience and relationships preferred.
  • In-depth understanding of Apple’s ecosystem, the music streaming landscape, including industry trends, consumer behavior, and competitive dynamics.
  • Superb communication, presentation and storytelling skills, with demonstrated ability in building high impact marketing narrative, content, and programs.
  • A keen eye for design, aesthetics, and attention to detail to ensure all communications materials align with Apple brand standards.
  • Phenomenal collaboration and inter-personal skills that encourage partnership and influences others to work together to move things forward.
  • Self-starter and creative problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment with the ability to deal with ambiguity and a positive “can-do” attitude.
  • Possesses a passion for music and a deep understanding of the historical, cultural, and social impact of music and artists.
  • Able to travel domestically, or internationally, as needed, for events, partnerships and media engagements.
