Apple’s on-device machine learning (ODML) team is looking for an exceptional software engineer to expand and support its suite of frameworks and tools. In this highly collaborative role, you will be working with multiple teams within Apple to bring machine learning and artificial intelligence to the hands of third-party (3P) app developers. We’re looking for a highly motivated engineer that is creative, talented, and passionate about products and enjoys fast, iterative development. You should enjoy drilling down into model optimization and customization, moving up to API design, all the way to creating your own frameworks and providing supporting content such as sample code and tutorials to empower 3P app developers.
Description
You will develop, maintain and support Apple’s ML tools and frameworks, including but not limited to, Create ML and Core ML, with the goal of supporting 3P developers’ adoption and adaptation of ML models to enable new use cases. You will have the opportunity to work cross-functionally with various teams at Apple and impact a number of technologies. You will gain a deep understanding of our on-device ML technologies in order to effectively work with both internal and external developers and advise them on best practices for deploying ML solutions on Apple hardware.
Minimum Qualifications
Strong and proven software development skills.
Track record of transforming ideas into products (i.e., production software development experience).
Experience with API design and software architecture.
Experience with Apple’s development tools and SDKs. Familiarity with Apple’s ML frameworks and Swift is a plus.
Excellent communication skills.
